President's letter

Dear Delegates,

My name is Hala Khirfan, and I will have the pleasure of serving as your President for this year’s AAMUN conference. I am incredibly excited to welcome you all to the United Nations Disarmament Commission (UNDC) and to be part of your MUN experience.

Looking back, I can confidently say that Model UN has become one of my greatest and most rewarding passions, and I hope to foster that same experience for all of you. As your President, I will be particularly focused on the quality and practicality of your resolutions, as well as the heated debates I look forward to hearing.

I hope you approach our topics with an open mind and a willingness to consider perspectives different from your own. Through fruitful debate and bold negotiations, you will not only deepen your understanding of these complex issues, but also develop valuable skills in critical thinking, diplomacy, collaboration, and public speaking.

Having attended countless conferences, I understand the stress that can come with trying something new. My advice to you is simple: do it. Speak without notes. Write a bold resolution. Take a risk. I encourage you all to embrace the spirit of innovation and make the most of every opportunity this conference gives you.

As your President, I am committed to ensuring that you have a productive, engaging, and memorable experience. I cannot wait to see your brilliant ideas come to life in committee.

I look forward to seeing the ideas, debates, and resolutions you will bring to the committee. I wish you all the best of luck in your preparations for AAMUN. I am confident that you will absolutely dominate and make this a conference to remember.
