Committee Description
The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is the main UN body responsible for fostering international cooperation in the peaceful exploration and utilization of outer space. This committee discusses and addresses issues related to space security, satellite technology, space sustainability, international regulations and the preservation of outer space as a resource for all mankind.
Recently, space is growing more important for purposes like communication, navigation, scientific research, and national security, therefore, ensuring stability and collaboration beyond Earth has become a serious concern in the modern era. UNOOSA serves as a forum for countries and governments to address new risks, create international norms and work closely with large space corporations like NASA, SpaceX, and Blue Origin to develop collaborative solutions to promote the responsible use of outer space.

President's letter
Dear Delegates,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs at AAMUN’26. Serving as your President is a responsibility I am truly honoured to take on, and I look forward to seeing the ideas, discussions, and solutions that each of you will bring to the committee.
As space exploration develops, the decisions made today will influence how humanity operates beyond Earth for generations. Our committee will address complex issues involving international cooperation, national interests, technological progress, and the peaceful use of outer space. These topics will require you to think carefully, listen to different perspectives, and work with others to develop realistic and fair resolutions.
Throughout the conference, I encourage you to remain engaged, speak confidently, and approach debate with an open mind. Strong delegates are not only those who defend their country’s position, but also those who negotiate effectively, respond to opposing views, and help the committee move toward meaningful solutions. Do not be afraid to challenge yourself, make mistakes, or contribute an idea that could change the direction of debate.
I hope this committee provides you with an opportunity to improve your public-speaking skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges surrounding outer space. Most importantly, I hope you enjoy the experience, build new connections, and leave the conference proud of what you accomplished.
